چکیده

Introduction and Aim: Proteus mirabilis is a Gram-negative bacterium that responsible for urinary tract infections (UTI), especially catheter-associated UTI. In this study, we investigated whether certain painkillers anti-inflammatory drugs, when used alongside antibiotics, could lower P. growth consequently resistance to antibiotics. Materials Methods: Urine samples (n=119) were collected from Baghdad hospitals. spp was identified using the Vitek-2 compact system PCR amplification of 16SrRNA gene. Antibiotic susceptibility test performed system. The Kirby-Bauer method investigate effects different concentrations chemical compounds (Dexamethasone, Nefopam, Olfen, paracetamol Piroxicam) alone synergism with antibiotics on extensively drug resistant (XDR) isolates. Results: 35 out 119 urine tested found be positive mirabilis. revealed isolates minocycline (71.40%), ticarcillin (68.57%), trimethoprim/ sulfamethoxazole (65.70%) ticarcillin/clavulanic (57.10%). Antibiotics in combination Olfen (75 mg/2 ml) Paracetamol (500 mg/5ml) drugs showed complete inhibition compared controls. Conclusion: Drugs dexamethasone, paracetamol, nefopam olfen had no direct effect bacterial alone. However, exerted synergistic or antagonist P.mirabilis.

Antibiotic Sensitivity of Proteus Species.

A study has been made of the antibiotic sensitivity pattern of 96 strains of Proteus isolated from clinical material and a further 29 strains kindly supplied by Dr. Patricia Carpenter. The results have been analysed in relation to the different species. The effect of electrolytes on the penicillin sensitivity of Proteus species has also been examined.

Bacteriophage typing of Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, and Proteus morganii.

A bacteriphage typing scheme for differentiating Proteus isolated from clinical specimens was developed. Twenty-one distinct patterns of lysis were seen when 15 bacteriophages isolated on 8 Proteus mirabilis, 1 P. vulgaris, and 1 P. morganii were used to type 162 of 189 (85.7%) P. mirabilis and P. vulgaris isolates. Seven phages isolated on 3 P. morganii were used to type 13 of 19 (68.4%) P. mo...

Basal Bodies of Bacterial Flagella in Proteus Mirabilis

This paper investigates further the question of whether the flagella of Proteus mirabilis emerge from basal bodies. The bacteria were grown to the stage of swarmer differentiation, treated lightly with penicillin, and then shocked osmotically. As a result of this treatment, much of the cytoplasmic content and also part of the plasma membrane were removed from the cells. When such fragmented org...

a comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection
